It could be that life happenings has swept you both up and into different sections of reality over the years. It may be because one or both of you have given up trust in the other. When you do not feel you can trust the one you love, no matter what the reason is, you seem to have no interest in making this trustworthy again.

For some people, discovering the source of the concern is not something that can be figured out. There may be a combination of things in the way of a meaningful marriage. There is not just one thing that can be repaired so that the marriage will be back to a good location. When there are more than only one issue blocking in the way of happiness and being together, the time that it will take to ensure the necessary changes will, as expected, be strung out. Even though it may take longer, it will be worth all things that you put into it.

This might be because they can feel the tension each time they are with their loved one. It may even be because they do not seem to talk to their spouse any time.

The very first step, no matter what the concern is, is to put aside any anger and resentment and honestly have a calm communication session with your partner. Make the agreement ahead of time that you will be up front and will not try to insult or aggravate each other. If it troubles you that your partner takes so much time with their siblings and not enough with you, bring it up. If you think they are not including you in big decisions that come up in the family, bring it up.

When you try to be calm and work as one to save the marriage, things will go much smoother. When things start to feel heated in the discussion and you feel an argument starting, take a break. Go to an outdoor area and breath in the fresh air until the hostility passes. When two people that are very upset try to discuss something, hurtful things could be said and they are not able to be taken back.
