Saving A Marriage From The Disaster Of Divorce

By Mark Mitchell

You have been a single person all of your life and you are wanting to be married. This is a union that should be a union that the both of you understand is important, and will have a serious impact on the rest of your life. Half of all the marriages in America fail and end up in the divorce section of the newspaper. If you are wanting to be saving a marriage, then follow the advice in this article.

It is true, that when you see that one person for the first time, time seems to slow down or stop momentarily. It is amazing how that works. The sparks of love are flying, and nothing else in the world matters to you at all. Eating and living life how you used to has no meaning. You are in love, and you don't care who knows it. This is the one for you, and you know that you two will be together forever.

After a while, it just seemed natural to want to become married. The feelings of love are overflowing and it just seems right. You stay engaged for a while, then you get married in a beautiful ceremony.

Things are going well for a while, then, all of the sudden, your marriage has hit a brick wall. You didn't even see it coming. You both argue, constantly, and the fights get worse. You argue about tiny things and now that there are kids in the family, even more responsibility.

You need to put everything in perspective. It is good to place emphasis on the burdens of life, but, not all of them at one time at the expense of your spouse. It is time to get each other interested in each other again. One way to start all of this off is to find out what is was that the both of you used to do for fun while you were dating. Start spending more time together.

Structure your home so that you and your spouse get to spend some quality time together. It doesn't have to be anything special for right now, just a daily walk. Make a certain day of the week date night. Remember, if things aren't going well, then you need to focus on you two. Get a babysitter and get out of the house or a dinner and a movie.

If romance is lost in a marriage and needs to find its way back, spend the time doing it. Hugs and kisses are so important. Little notes telling your spouse how much it means to be married to them and how much they mean to you are great. Making love is a physical love that you two share, and it needs paying attention to.

Spend quiet times talking with each other. And, when you do this, listen. Not listening to each other, is one of the reasons that lead to marriage failure. If you are interested in saving a marriage, starting with yours, then follow some of the above advice.
