Are You Trying To Save Marriage? Start With Baby Steps!

By Stella Jay

Your save marriage process will be much easier if both of you have decided that you still want to remain married to each other. All you need to do to improve your relationship is to start with baby steps. In fact, since you are still in love with each other, the main problem with your relationship should be a lack of communication.

Regardless of how much we love our partners, very often we tend to take them for granted. That is unfortunate but things always seem to turn out that way. We could be busy helping to solve others' problems, such as settling issues for our children, our friends and even our colleagues. However, we fail to show our spouses our love and concern for them. We always make the mistake of assuming that they will understand how we feel towards them.

Like it or not, it is very often our helpfulness that leads to our relationship failure because our partners fail to see themselves being viewed as the most important. If they are not made to feel loved, the relationship will start to fall apart and it is vital that the issue is resolved at the beginning before it is too late.

The first step to saving your marriage is to schedule a time for an open communication. Make sure a babysitter is called in to look after your kids if you have any. To prevent yourselves from getting into a heated argument, you could arrange to meet at a public place.

In order to make the relationship work again, both of you will have to make a commitment to each other to put in your best effort. If you are both committed to the relationship, it will be a great reassurance for both parties.

However, this should not be the only occasion when you have an open communication. There should be a series of dates with each other if you want to rekindle that romantic feeling in your relationship. Start by telling each other of your wants and make a conscious effort to fulfill the other party's needs.

Apart from spending time doing things together, you could also let the other person know what you have enjoyed most from the relationship as well as what areas could be improved upon. Take this opportunity to rediscover each other and you will soon be able to relight the old flame in your marriage.

Nobody says that it is going to be easy to save marriage but with hard work and lots of patience, you will be able see that things will work out well at the end. Just give it enough time and be willing to put in the effort by starting with just baby steps. Ultimately, when you are both together like before, you will find that all the hard work is worthwhile.
